Body Prep
Phase II - POR-15 and Prime

The body was sandblasted on September 21st.  The sandblaster did a better than expected job as you can see here.
Normally Ray does not have the sandblaster do the centers of the large flat areas of the roof, hood, trunk lid and rear quarter panels.  If the sandblaster doesn't know what he's doing he can warp the panels in this area.
Fortunately the sandblaster who did this work knew what he was doing because all of the flat sections came out perfectly.
Some of the undercoating was left in the rear wheel wells as well as the bottom of the body.  This is normal, if the sandblaster was to try to blast off everything he could accidentally warp the piece.
Our main objective for sandblasting the body was to eliminate all of the rust and to remove the paint.  Any remaining undercoating will stay because if it can adhere to the metal for 40 years and through a sandblasting process, it's probably still doing it's job.  POR-15 will be painted on in these areas and will help it protect any exposed metal.
